About OSHi GHEE

Bringing Bengali Heritage to Modern Kitchens

OSHi GHEE was founded by Aashna Ahmed in Rochester, New York, as a way to celebrate her Bangladeshi heritage and share her mother’s traditional ghee recipe with the world.

Inspired by her parents’ journey as immigrants and their dream of building a better future, Ahmed launched OSHi GHEE to introduce the rich, nutty flavors of Bengali-style ghee to health-conscious and creative cooks. OSHi GHEE is crafted in small batches using traditional methods, ensuring its authenticity and quality. Slowly simmered to remove milk solids and water, the ghee is lactose-free, shelf-stable, and perfect for a variety of cooking methods, thanks to its high smoke point.

Product Offerings

  • Original Ghee: A versatile option that enhances the flavor of any dish while staying true to Bengali traditions.

  • Garlic Ghee: Infused with roasted garlic for a savory twist, perfect for sautéing vegetables or meats.

  • Maple Ghee: A collaboration with local producers, offering a sweet flavor ideal for pancakes, baking, or drizzling over roasted vegetables.

Mission and Values

OSHi GHEE is more than a culinary product—it’s a bridge to Bengali culture and traditions. By supporting local agriculture and small businesses, Ahmed ensures that each jar reflects a commitment to community and sustainability while preserving her family’s culinary heritage.

Available through their website and select local markets, OSHi GHEE invites customers to explore the authentic flavors of Bengali cuisine with a modern touch.
